Roof Mounted Antenna

The roof-mounted antenna is positioned toward the rear of the Nissan Murano roof. Its location allows it to receive radio signals while remaining integrated with the vehicle's exterior design.

CAUTION

• Ice accumulating on or around the antenna may reduce radio reception quality. Carefully remove the ice to help restore normal radio performance.
• When clearing snow from the roof, do not push, pull, or apply excessive force to the antenna.

  Strong pressure may break the antenna or leave a dent in the surrounding roof panel.

• When washing the Nissan Murano with high-pressure equipment, keep the spray nozzle away from the antenna. A concentrated water jet may deform or damage the antenna seal.
• Roof-mounted cargo may interfere with radio reception if it obstructs the signal reaching the antenna. Whenever practical, position cargo away from the antenna area.

GNSS ANTENNA (for ProPILOT Assist 2.1)

Vehicles equipped with ProPILOT Assist 2.1 have two GNSS antennas located toward the rear of the vehicle roof. These antennas must remain unobstructed and undamaged to support reliable GNSS signal reception.

CAUTION

• Ice buildup on the antennas may interfere with GNSS reception and reduce system performance. Carefully remove accumulated ice to help restore proper signal reception.
• Do not apply excessive force to either antenna while removing snow from the roof.

  Strong pressure may damage an antenna or dent the adjacent roof panel.

• Keep the nozzle of a high-pressure car wash away from the GNSS antennas.

  Direct exposure to a concentrated water jet may deform or damage the antenna seals.

• Cargo carried on the roof may reduce GNSS performance if it blocks the incoming signal. Whenever possible, keep luggage and other roof-mounted items away from the antenna locations.

Car phone or CB radio

When installing a CB radio, amateur radio, or car phone in the Nissan Murano, follow the precautions below carefully. Incorrect installation, unsuitable component placement, or improper antenna routing may interfere with the engine control system or other electronic equipment in the vehicle.

WARNING

• Do not use a cellular phone for any purpose that takes your attention away from driving. Full concentration must remain on safe vehicle operation.

  Cellular phone use while driving is also restricted or prohibited in some jurisdictions.

• If a call must be made while the vehicle is moving, use the hands-free operating mode whenever legally permitted. Even with hands-free equipment, remain extremely cautious and keep your attention focused on the road, surrounding traffic, and vehicle controls.
• If a phone conversation prevents you from giving full attention to driving, leave the roadway when it is safe to do so, stop the vehicle in a secure location, and complete the call only after the vehicle is stationary.

CAUTION

• Install the communication antenna as far as practical from the vehicle's electronic control modules to reduce the possibility of electrical interference.
• Keep the antenna cable more than 8 in (20 cm) away from electronic control-system wiring harnesses. Do not route the antenna cable alongside or directly next to any vehicle harness.
• Adjust the antenna standing-wave ratio according to the equipment manufacturer's recommendations to support correct transmitter operation.
• Connect the ground wire from the CB radio chassis securely to the vehicle body as specified for the installed equipment.
