The capacities listed below are approximate and should be used as general reference values when servicing the Nissan Murano.

Actual refill quantities may vary slightly depending on how completely the system was drained and how much fluid remains inside the components. When refilling, follow the applicable procedure in the "Do-it-yourself" section and use the specified inspection method to determine the correct final fluid level.

Fuel

• The Nissan Murano fuel tank has the following approximate capacity:
  • Metric Measure: 70.8 L
  • US Measure: 18-3/4 gal
  • Imperial Measure: 15-5/8 gal

Engine oil drain and refill

• Genuine "NISSAN Motor Oil 0W-20 SP" or an equivalent oil meeting the same requirements is recommended.
• If the recommended NISSAN motor oil is not available, synthetic 0W-20 SP GF-6A motor oil may be used. Confirm that the replacement oil meets the specified viscosity and performance classifications before adding it to the engine.

  When checking or refilling the engine oil, follow the procedure described in the "Do-it-yourself" section and make sure the oil level remains within the specified range.

  Engine damage caused by using motor oil that does not meet the recommended specifications is not covered under NISSAN's New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

With oil filter change

• Approximate engine oil refill capacity when the oil filter is replaced:
• Metric Measure: 4.7 L
• US Measure: 5 qt
• Imperial Measure: 4-1/8 qt

Without oil filter change

• Approximate engine oil refill capacity when the existing oil filter is not replaced:
• Metric Measure: 4.4 L
• US Measure: 4-5/8 qt
• Imperial Measure: 3-7/8 qt

Engine coolant with reservoir

• Use pre-diluted Genuine NISSAN Long Life Antifreeze/Coolant (blue) or an equivalent coolant meeting the required specifications. Because the specified coolant is pre-diluted, no additional mixing is required.
• The approximate total cooling system capacity, including the reservoir, is:
  • Metric Measure: 9.19 L
  • US Measure: 2-3/8 gal
  • Imperial Measure: 2 gal

Automatic transmission fluid (ATF)

• Use Genuine NISSAN Matic R ATF or an equivalent automatic transmission fluid meeting the same specification.
• NISSAN recommends using Genuine NISSAN Matic R ATF, or a verified equivalent, only in NISSAN automatic transmissions. Do not mix it with other transmission fluids. Using a fluid that is not equivalent to Genuine NISSAN Matic R ATF may damage the automatic transmission. Damage resulting from the use of an incorrect fluid is not covered under NISSAN's New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

Differential gear oil

• Use Genuine NISSAN Differential Oil Hypoid Super Semi-synthetic, API GL-5, with SAE 75W-90 viscosity.
• Using differential gear oil with a specification or viscosity other than the one listed may cause vehicle malfunctions. Repairs required because an incorrect differential oil was used may not be covered by the vehicle's warranty.

Coupling oil

• Use Genuine NISSAN LSC Coupling Transmission Fluid 12-301 or an equivalent fluid meeting the same requirements.

Transfer case oil

• Use Genuine NISSAN Differential Oil Hypoid Super-S GL-5 synthetic 75W-90 or an equivalent oil with the same specification.

Brake fluid

• Use Genuine NISSAN Super Heavy Duty Brake Fluid or an equivalent DOT 3 brake fluid. Prevent dirt, moisture, or other contaminants from entering the brake fluid reservoir during service.
• Genuine NISSAN Super Heavy Duty Brake Fluid is available in the mainland U.S.A. through a NISSAN dealer.

Multi-purpose grease

• Use NLGI No. 2 multi-purpose grease with a lithium soap base where this specification is required.

Air conditioning system refrigerant

• The air conditioning system uses HFO1234yf, also identified as R1234yf. Use only the specified refrigerant when servicing the system.

Air conditioning system oil

• Use NISSAN A/C System Oil Type VC100YF (PAG) or an equivalent oil meeting the same specification.

Windshield-washer fluid

• Use Genuine NISSAN Windshield Washer Concentrate Cleaner & Antifreeze fluid or an equivalent product suitable for the expected operating temperatures.
• The approximate Nissan Murano windshield-washer reservoir capacity is:
  • Metric Measure: 4.8 L
  • US Measure: 1-1/4 gal
  • Imperial Measure: 1 gal
