Basic Information

WARNING

• Do not ride in a moving vehicle when the seatback is reclined. This position can be dangerous because the shoulder belt will not rest correctly against your body. In an accident, your body could move forward into the belt and cause neck or other serious injuries.

  You could also slide under the lap belt, which can greatly increase the risk of serious internal injuries.

• For the most effective protection while the vehicle is moving, the seat should be kept upright. Always sit well back in the seat, keep both feet on the floor, and adjust the seat so the seat belt can fit correctly across the body.
• Do not leave children unattended inside the vehicle. They could unknowingly operate switches or controls, release systems, or cause the vehicle to move, creating a serious accident risk.
• To help avoid the risk of injury or death through unintended vehicle operation or system activation, do not leave children, people who require assistance, or pets unattended in your vehicle. In warm weather, the temperature inside a closed vehicle can rise quickly enough to create a serious or fatal hazard for people and animals.
• Do not adjust the driver's seat while driving. The driver's full attention should remain on vehicle operation, and sudden seat movement could interfere with control of the vehicle.
• The seatback should not be reclined more than needed for comfort.

  Seat belts provide the best protection when the passenger sits well back and upright in the seat. If the seatback is reclined, the chance of sliding under the lap belt and being injured becomes higher.

CAUTION When adjusting the seat positions in the Nissan Murano, make sure hands, feet, and other objects do not contact moving parts. This helps reduce the possibility of injury and helps prevent damage to the seat mechanism or surrounding trim.

Front power seat adjustment

Operating tips

• The power seat motor is equipped with an auto-reset overload protection circuit. If the motor stops while the seat is being adjusted, release the switch, wait approximately 30 seconds, and then operate the switch again.
• Do not hold the power seat switch for an extended period when the engine is off. Continuous operation can draw power from the battery and may make it harder to start the vehicle later.

Forward and backward

Move the switch in the direction shown to slide the seat forward or backward until the desired driving or passenger position is reached. Adjust the seat so the pedals, steering wheel, controls, and seat belt can be used comfortably without stretching or sitting too close to the instrument panel.

Reclining

Move the recline switch as shown and hold it until the seatback reaches the preferred angle. Release the switch once the position feels comfortable and supportive.

The reclining feature allows the seatback angle to be adjusted for occupants of different sizes, improving comfort while also helping the seat belt fit correctly across the shoulder and lap. In the Nissan Murano, the seatback should remain upright enough for proper restraint protection whenever the vehicle is moving. The seatback may be reclined farther to let occupants rest only when the vehicle is parked.

Seat lifter and tilt

• Move the rear part of the switch as shown to raise or lower the seat height. This adjustment helps the occupant obtain a clearer view of the road and a more natural reach to the controls.
• Move the front part of the switch as shown to adjust the angle of the seat cushion, if so equipped. A properly set cushion angle can improve thigh support without interfering with pedal operation or seat belt position.

Lumbar support

Move the switch forward to increase lumbar support or rearward to reduce it. The adjustment changes the amount of lower-back support so the seat can better match the occupant's preferred posture.

Move the switch up or down to adjust the height of the lumbar support. This allows the support area to be positioned more accurately against the lower back rather than simply increasing or decreasing pressure in one fixed location.

NOTE: Moving the switch forward increases lumbar support at the last height position that was activated.

Armrest

To lower the armrest, pull it downward as shown until it reaches the usable position. Make sure it moves smoothly and does not interfere with nearby seat or console components.

To return the armrest to the raised position, push it upward until it reaches the full up position. The armrest should sit securely when stowed so it does not move unexpectedly while the vehicle is being driven.
