Basic information
WARNING
- Always make sure the liftgate is fully closed and securely latched before driving. A liftgate that is not properly secured may open unexpectedly while the Nissan Murano is moving.
- Do not drive with the liftgate open. An open liftgate can allow dangerous exhaust gases to enter the passenger compartment, creating a risk of carbon monoxide exposure.
- To reduce the risk of serious injury or death caused by unintended operation of the vehicle or its systems, including accidental door locking or entrapment in the windows, never leave children, people who require assistance, or pets unattended inside the vehicle. The interior of a closed vehicle can become dangerously hot in a short period on a warm day, creating a significant risk of heat-related injury or death.
- Before closing the liftgate, make sure that hands, fingers, feet, clothing, and other objects are clear of the liftgate and surrounding frame. Closing the liftgate while anything is in its path may cause injury or damage.
CAUTION Do not install or use accessory carriers that attach directly to the liftgate. The additional load and stress may damage the liftgate, its hinges, or other vehicle components.
